Rebekah Jacobs

ELA Lead/ Instructional Coach ELA

Rebekah leads TenSquare’s ELA coaching program and builds the capacity of ELA instructors in TenSquare partner schools through curriculum support, instructional coaching and professional development. Rebekah has spent the last 15 years in education, beginning her career as a middle school ELA teacher in Southeast Los Angeles. She worked closely with new teachers in her district and as a staff member for Teach For America’s summer institutes. She spent seven years as a classroom teacher, and also served as a literacy coach for Boston Public Schools and LAUSD. She has extensive experience in teacher professional development and was an author of the literacy sessions for Teach For America’s summer institute, an elementary curriculum for nursery and primary schools in Kenya, and both a middle school ELA and social studies curriculum for charter schools across the US. She is a Data-Driven Guided Reading trainer and Close Reading facilitator for KIPP Literacy Learning Labs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin, a Reading Specialist degree, a Master of Arts in Education and Language Arts from Loyola Marymount and a Master of Education of Language and Literacy from Harvard University.
